Salmon Eggs Arrive

Our yearly raising of Coho has begun! This project is overseen by the salmon dream team. These students are Dexter, Malcolm, Micheal, Niall and Emily. Together they have collected creek water, set up the tanks and filters, helped Erin Wright the DFO co-ordinator and will monitor the growth of the eggs as well as feed the fry. 96 eggs arrived on January 17th this past Thursday. The school put the eggs into the collected creek water which needs to stay dark and covered for several weeks. The eggs will now sit in water at approx 9 degrees celcius until they are mature enough to enter the stream. Students learned about the various stages and needs from Erin Wright.
